Juco star visiting Tennessee today, then UK

Mazebobby Bobby Maze, the 6-foot-3 guard from Hutchinson (Kansas) Junior College is to be in Knoxville today visiting Tennessee, before making a visit to UK this weekend, reports the Knoxville News-Sentinel.

Tennessee is in the market for a guard after dismissing sophomore point guard Ramar Smith from the team last Friday. Smith and sophomore forward Duke Crews were both dismissed for substance abuse policy violations and academic problems, sources told the Knoxville newspaper.

An Oklahoma signee originally, Maze averaged 20.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 6.7 assists last season for Hutchinson. Maze has moved around. He's originally from Washington, D.C., played his final year of high school at the Patterson School in Lenoir, North Carolina before signing with OU. He played one year for the Sooners before transferring to Hutchinson.

Maze told the Knoxville newspaper that he wants to play on a team that runs, and that he left Oklahoma because the Sooners, "slowed me down."

If he wants to run, then UT is a better fit than UK. Gillispie is not going to run anytime soon. Didn't run much in 3 years at A&M.
